We have had excellent homing results as a result of potential new owners seeing the pictures of cats for re-homing on this site. All cats offered for rehoming have had full health checks and in most cases, have had blood tests - for further specific details, please ask.

Cats available for homing in Sussex

Updated 13/01/2012

We are still appealing for a home for  mischievous Monty (right). Monty is a very loveable, black and white longhaired cat who is also nine years old. He too has been treated for fleas and worms and has had his booster vaccination. He had a dental and his coat shaven for the Summer and he is looking for his forever home. Lucy calls him mischievous as he has a habit of swiping out at you every now and then. He doesn't mean anything by it, but he would be better in a home with no young children. Monty is actually a very friendly, sweet lad; he just likes to draw attention to himself the only way he knows how, if he thinks you're not paying him enough attention.

If you are interested in homing  Monty, or would like any further information, please  email info@caringforcats.org.uk

We are looking to rehome a delightful pair of cats who came into our care through very sad circumstances. Their young male owner, who doted on them, was diagnosed terminally ill with cancer and very sadly died a short while ago. They are both eight years old and inseparable. Lara Croft is a stunning grey and white girl, very sweet natured and she enjoys a stroke and cuddle. Sylvester is a very sleek black cat, he "talks" back to you as soon as he hears his name, and though shy initially, he has come round beautifully and loves a stroke and fuss. They have both been to the vets to be checked out and both are now fully vaccinated, de-flead and wormed.  They are currently living with Lucy in Eastbourne so if you are interested in adopting Lara Croft or Sylvester, or would like some more information, please email info@caringforcats.org.uk

Hannah is a really delightful British Blue cat. She’s nearly 10 years old and though initially shy until she gets to know you, she’s a really affectionate girl and loves company, though has been used to being alone for a large part of the day. She’s fully vaccinated, has recently been wormed and deflead and in the last couple of months, she has had a dental done and full bloods run, which were all okay. Hannah is fine around other cats, though she doesn’t like them getting up too close and personal with her. She is an “easy care” cat. She likes wet food and biscuits, adores being groomed and prefers to be indoors rather than out. She will repay your love tenfold.

Hannah is currently living with Lucy in Eastbourne so if you are interested in offering her a new permanent home, or would like some more information, please email info@caringforcats.org.uk

Eve is a young black and white female cat who was found as a stray with her kittens. Eve is a very laid-back quiet cat and is neutered and vaccinated.

If you would like to offer her a loving home, please call Andrea in Billingshurst on 01403 780801 or 07745 802517 or email info@caringforcats.org.uk

Magic is a black male cat with white dots on his feet. He is about 3-4 years old and came to us via another rescue. He had been living in a caravan with many other cats and is now neutered and vaccinated.

If you would like to offer him a loving home, please call Andrea in Billingshurst on 01403 780801 or 07745 802517 or email info@caringforcats.org.uk

Thank you for looking

Cats looking for permanent foster homes

Of the increasing number of cats that we take in, there are many that despite their age or health condition can return love and affection to their keepers. However, you may be wary of taking ownership of such a cat because of the cost - by reason of their age or health they may require extra medical attention, treatment and/or special prescription food. Caring for Cats has created a Permanent Foster Scheme in areas close to its rescue centres whereby the charity will pay all veterinary bills, including prescription food and In the event of you not being able to keep the cat any longer for any reason, the charity will take the cat back into its care at the earliest opportunity. Permanently fostered cats remain Caring for Cats cats and we stay in close touch with our fosterers. We do ask for regular updates and photographs of the cats because they have sponsors.

Merlin has to be one of the sweetest, most endearing little black cats that I have ever had the pleasure of meeting – even our vet said that he was one of the nicest cats she’d come across. He purrs through everything. He’s gentle, loving and very appreciative of any attention. He enjoys the company of other cats and is only 2 years old. He is fully vaccinated and has been recently wormed and deflead.

Merlin  is currently living with Lucy in Eastbourne so if you are interested in offering him a new permanent home, or would like some more information, please email info@caringforcats.org.uk

Bryce is a handsome tabby & white lad who is only 2 years old. He’s very talkative and loving, especially around food times!! He has a good appetite and enjoys the odd treat. He’s a gentle, but well built lad without a nasty bone in his body. He doesn’t mind being around other cats, but doesn’t want them too close to him. He loves cuddles and being groomed and he enjoys the indoors and outdoors. He’s fully vaccinated and has recently been wormed and deflead. A really nice family cat.
