Caring for Cats is a small registered charity which rescues, neuters and rehomes abandoned and unwanted cats, including feral cats. Our rehoming centres are in Watford, Hertfordshire and Horsham, Sussex, and increasingly, we are giving sanctuary to older cats and those who are difficult to rehome. We have a non-destruction policy, which means that no cat is put to sleep unless it is suffering with no hope of getting better and/or no longer enjoying any quality of life.
Cats and kittens are found caring homes wherever possible, but any cats who cannot be found suitable homes are cared for by the charity for the rest of their lives. This has resulted in the charity having over seventy permanent residents living in homes in Hertfordshire, Kent, Sussex, and Essex and you are invited to sponsor them to help with their veterinary fees and food bills.
If you do not feel able to become a supporter/sponsor but would like to help the cats on a one-off basis by making a donation, please send a cheque to Caring for Cats, c/o 19 Allington Drive, Tonbridge, Kent, TN10 4HH
Supporters/Sponsors
The charity relies solely on donations, fundraising, people joining our supporter scheme and sponsorship of our resident cats. These cats are either elderly, disabled or feral cats that people just do not want. There are cats such as Moo-Min, who is a 3-legged tabby living in St Albans, Siddy who is a blind epileptic cat living in Tonbridge and Basil, one of the ferals living at the Cat House in Purfleet. All these cats rely on the kindness of sponsors. PLEASE click on the Sponsor Cats link to see the cats seeking sponsors at the present time. If you feel that you can help by becoming a Supporter or a Supporter/Sponsor then please print and complete the form which may be found by clicking on the Sponsor Form link. The minimum payment for a Supporter is £6 per year and in return for your payment you will receive our quarterly newsletter giving details of the charity's activities. The minimum payment for a Supporter/Sponsor is £12 per year but if you are able to make a larger payment it will be very gratefully received. In return for your payment you will receive a photo and news of your chosen cat and the quarterly newsletter. You can also sponsor further cats for an additional £6 per cat per year. You will also, of course, have the knowledge that you are helping to keep a cat safe and well fed for the rest of its life.
Unfortunately we have to limit our Supporters and Sponsors to people living in the United Kingdom. This is for financial reasons; it simply is not cost effective to invite people from overseas to join our schemes.
